:: Guns, Girls & the Facts of Life (2008) (PREVIEW - IN PROGRESS) ::
Written by Hugh Lawton and illustrated by Archie Templar. The title says it all. A trailer park crime caper with a moral tale; sometimes all you need to get through life is a large cock and a trusty shotgun. After that? Well everything else just falls right into place ... or at least that's what our surly protagonist would like to believe.
:: Hibernia 16/31 (2007) (PREVIEW - IN PROGRESS) ::
This is a preview of the latest work in progress by Archie. Set in 1931, our story opens on the eve of the fifteenth anniversary of the Easter Victory Rising of 1916. The United Republic of Ireland is a changed country; a beacon of culture and learning and a hub of commerce and industry. But as with all idyllic societies, one need only scratch the surface to see it’s true nature …
Nathaniel Valentine, one of the architects of Ireland’s success, harbours a shared secret. The years have taken their toll on his conscience and that secret is about to find a voice.
I have always wanted to work on a "what-if" project ... what if the 1916 Rising had lasted six months, not six days? What if the Rebels had been victorious? What if the United States of America, in a strategic and self-serving move, had massively influenced the outcome? These were some of the questions I wanted to explore. To visit an Ireland that never was fifteen years later and to see what kind of society it had become. To follow in the steps of Nathaniel Valentine and uncover the ugly, dirty secret that festers in the foundation stone of the new Republic.

Launched in 2007, “From The Pants of Archie Templar” was Ireland's first full-colour, full-size Small Press comic! Taking a high brow look at the city of Dublin and her colourful inhabitants; along the way we meet Simon Leviticus, a gent who takes the Old Testament just a little too literally; Finian and his fickle opinions, a typical middle-class fop who changes his mind as often as his chinos and a host of other chums of Archie’s as seen below. Currently available to buy ONLINE and at the following Dublin locations: Crow Corner Comics, Forbidden Planet, The Winding Stair, The Secret Book and Record Store and in Amsterdam in Europe’s first comic shop, the world famous Lambiek!
:: The Secret Origins of Dublin Ho (She's Bedda Than Yo') (2007) ::
A tongue in cheek look at the origins of this new breed of Irish Woman; confident, self assured and, well, quite simply, better than you. A creature so deluded that her creation could only have been concocted by as evil a fiend as the Nazis.
:: Henry & Celly, Atha Cliath’s Unlikeliest Queers (2007) ::
Two young men from very different backgrounds find solace in their love of hetero-phobia, über-violence and each other.
:: At Home With Archie (2007) ::
As “From the Pants…” was both a stand-alone comic and a showcase for art this double-spread attempted to incorporate that element.
